Materialistic Spiritualism
Spiritualism today, inspires a picture of bald sanyasis walking bare footed on roads working for betterment of life or grass smoking foreigners who dont give a damn for the world. It may also portray a picture of 10000000 or more bhakts listening to bapus or ma. But who attains spiritualism... what is the feeling... is it the sense of nothingness or is it the peace with nothingness. Is it nothingness? Or is it everything... Is it worth experiencing?????
Materialism is simpler to explain... easier to experience... wait did I say easier. We fight for life for a deadline, break hearts for meetings... we fear, we betray, we cheat, we lie, we agonise, we hate, we scold, we fight, we repent... every single moment of our lives for achieving or attaining our goals. Its no way easier. Step by step we move ahead in life with our ambitions always surpassing our achievements. The quest for more keeps the man moving, searching for better things in life and leading to a never ending development of humankind. But during this quest we all realize that 'survival of the fittest' is still the most practical rule man ever thought of. So we fight more.
So how does Spiritualism fit into this world... while doing all this and much more?

Spiritualism is within you, within me, within everyone... probably a huge feeling of satisfaction may resonate as a vague feeling of Spiritualism. But when do u get satisfaction? When you achieve something (Materialistic) u get satisfied and that may reflect as a sense of peace... a vague representation of Spiritualism. Does that mean that Materialism leads to Spiritualism????

Reading Osho huh !!!
Not really.. just some thoughts
being spiritual is a very personal experience, as one's experiences with the supreme power.there might be people who are able to derive spiritualty from materialistic means, but the being spritual does not necessarily require you to leave material world. i see it as being at peace with urself and the world... when u achieve it u r in perfect harmony with everything surrounding you including urself.
Well articulated. Spirtualism and materialism are menifestation of thoughts i suppose. Its the satisfaction and need to make your brain understand what you are here for. More often it is what is easily achievable and what is in your realms, gives you rational to act so...and sometimes it is just desperation to find a reason for your existence...and that reason can be best gathered from things that are at your disposabel (material for those who have achieved them and spiritualism for those who are good but cud not acheive materialistic wellbeing..)for rest its just philosophy and luck ...what do you say??
Well expressed...
I believe human being, by nature is a selfish being... A newborn child having milk from his mother is nothing but a parasite to her..(i donot mean to be impolite)
...please read on...
What i mean is spirituality is nothing but a selfish state of a being, when a human craves for something more than earthly pleasures... but the fact remains the same, the "long", or the "want" of something... it may be high mental state, or sensual satisfaction... nature by itself is selfish... an apple always falls down to achieve a state of rest... The entropy (randomness) of the universe is increasing, as it brings more distribution of the universal energy... a state of rest...
spirituality as correctly stated is nothing but a materialism at higher level... so donot demark the two... both have the same cause and the same effect...
Well written, indeed... but taking spiritulity equivalent to satisfaction in the end caused an abrupt U-Turn... It seemed like one of those engineering theorems we had to prove, will take any assumotion to reach the bottom line - Hence, Proved.
Spirituality is not even closely related to satisfaction. To be precise, spirituality can be satisfactory only to a materialistic mind... and here lies the Catch 22 ;)
well not really... philosophy is no maths... and as u rightly said satisfaction can be only thought as spiritulism by a materialistic guy like me, you, us.... and so right titled Materialistic Spiritualism.
Also have not written this to give Gyaan to anyone...
